Touchstone Learning & Skills has developed close partnerships across the UK to provide training solutions to both small and corporate organisations:

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC)

Responsible for all post 16 education and training. The Council has brought together the skills of the Training and Enterprise Councils and the Further Education Funding Council to work with partners, employers, learning providers, community groups and individuals to develop and implement strategies that meet the Government's aims set out in the 'Learning to Succeed' White Paper.

Touchstone currently holds contracts with local LSCs across the UK, working in partnership to provide quality learning, workforce development and qualifications for both young people and adults for many organisations including, BAA, F.Hinds, Goldsmiths, Jessops, Klick Photopoint and Ann Summers to name a few.

Training Initiatives

JobCentre Plus - having developed contracts with district and regional JobCentre Plus branches, Touchstone provide a number of bespoke training courses for local employers:

• Short job-focused training (SJFT) is provided, whereby Touchstone delivers training and support to persons over 25 years of age who have been out of work for some time to sustain them in employment.
• Utilising the Government 'New Deal' subsidy, Touchstone enables employers to claim wage subsidies for new employees whilst they receive Touchstone training courses in line with JobCentre Plus guidelines.

Pre-Employment Courses - customised to a particular company's requirements, Job/Work Preparation Courses are delivered to individuals enabling them to understand the company regulations and procedures, confidently complete job application forms, develop interview techniques and build self-esteem.

First Visual

Affiliated with Touchstone, First Visual is a national resource development organisation offering a range of training packages formulated by Assessors and Verifiers. These resources are utilised by training providers, colleges and educational organisations throughout the UK to develop learners' knowledge of organisational procedures, industry specific legislation and occupational best practises.

First Visual produce training packages that support the delivery of Open Learning, Key Skills integration and Initial Assessment within the Retail, Customer Service, Administration and Distribution, Warehousing and Storage industries.
