Touchstone Learning & Skills was formed in 1993 and has grown to be one of the largest and most highly regarded training providers in the UK. In partnership with Learning and Skills Councils (LSCs) strong relationships have been developed with corporate and small businesses to provide training towards Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships, incorporating National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for young people in the workplace.

During 2001, Touchstone developed contracts with JobCentre Plus to provide short job-focused training (SJFT) with local employers. Over 25 year olds who have been out of work for several years are encouraged and supported to sustain employment.

Since our foundation, we have played a pivotal role in helping employees achieve recognition and new skills in the workplace which have contributed to an improvement in morale, customer service and staff retention in many organisations.

On 6th February 2006, Touchstone Learning and Skills was acquired by VT Group Plc.  VT Group who prides itself on the delivery of innovative solutions to Governments and Government agencies has 12,000 staff, who work primarily in the UK, USA and Middle East within Defence, Communications and Education & Skills.

Touchstone Learning & Skills now forms part of the VT Education & Skills Division with HCTC and VT Training which is an international company with the unique ability to offer a totally holistic solution to academic and vocational education requirements. VT Education & Skills offers a fully comprehensive portfolio of educational services, careers information, advice and guidance, vocational training and assessment.

VT Training deliver apprenticeships in the hospitality, engineering, care and active leisure & learning sectors.  VT Group and Touchstone collectively believe that by bringing together the retail provision of Touchstone with the market size of VT Training, we will be able to rise to the challenge of continuous improvement that will be essential to allow us to retain and grow our contracts with the LSC, ELWa and Scottish Enterprise.
